Data storage and retention

Unless a specific retention storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you request deletion or revoke your consent, we will delete your data unless retention is required by law (e.g. for tax or commercial purposes). In such cases,  data will be deleted once the legal retention period expires. 

Legal basis for data processing

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR, insofar as special categories of data are processed in accordance with Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR. In the event of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or access to information in your end device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), the data processing is also carried out on the basis of Section 25 (1) of the GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is required to fulfill the contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data if this is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Information on the relevant legal bases in each individual case is provided in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Provision of the website and log files

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing computer. 

The following data is collected:

  • Information about the browser type and version used
  • The user's operating system
  • The user's internet service provider
  • The IP address of the user
  • Date and time of access
  • Websites from which the user's system accesses our website
  • Websites that are accessed by the user's system via our website

The data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.

Personal registration with Wiki.AUDIO

 Users may register on our portal by providing the following personal data:
  • User ID
  • Surname, first name
  • E-mail address
  • User group

The following data is also stored upon registration:

  • IP address of the user
  • Date and time of registration

Data will only be passed on to third parties in the context of online interlibrary loans and based on a legitimate interest or contractual obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b or f GDPR).

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data when:
  • The data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected for.
  • You withdraw your consent, and there is no other legal basis for processing.
  • You object to the processing, and there are no overriding legitimate grounds.
  • The data was unlawfully processed.
  • The data must be erased to comply with a legal obligation.
Exceptions may apply, e.g., if the data is necessary for exercising freedom of expression, complying with a legal obligation, or archiving purposes in the public interest.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You can request the restriction of the processing of your personal data in the following cases:
  • If you dispute the accuracy of your data, for the duration of the review.
  • If the processing is unlawful, but you oppose the erasure of your data.
  • If we no longer need the data, but you require it for legal claims.
  • If you object to the processing, and the balance of interests is being reviewed.
